She uses her ability to maintain her status as the most popular girl at Silverton Academy as well as being a state-wide chess champion. When a new girl, Mara Rodriguez, transfers to Silverton Academy, Shyla is met with her biggest challenge yet, not being able to read Mara’s mind.
